Fabulous Fifty: A Celebration of Wisdom, Wonder & a Few Shenanigans

Fifty blogs. That’s fifty deep dives into the messy, magical, rebellious world of aging on our own terms. Fifty invitations to rethink, reimagine, and reclaim the narrative. Fifty conversations that have sparked insights, laughter, and maybe even a few well-placed side-eyes at outdated ideas about what it means to be a woman growing older.

Hitting fifty (blogs, that is—my other fifty is well behind me) feels like a golden moment. Not because the journey is complete, but because it proves we’re building momentum. The words keep flowing. The community keeps growing. And the movement? Well that is just getting started.

Looking back, this blog space has been something of a Lost and Found Department. We have lost limiting beliefs, outdated labels, and the idea that reinvention has an expiration date. We’ve found resilience, power, and a sisterhood of bolder older women who refuse to shrink into the shadows.

In these weekly missives, we’ve tackled everything from travel and resilience to playlists and patios. We’ve shouted about saying YES to new adventures and whispered about the importance of stillness. We’ve laughed, reflected, and (let’s be honest) probably rolled our eyes more than once at the nonsense society sells us about aging. Redefining aging for women isn’t just a topic here at WonderCrone—it’s a mission.

This space has become more than a blog; it’s a community for women aging on our own terms, rewriting the story of what it means to step into this chapter with intention, joy, and a few well-earned shenanigans. In these words and in the conversations that follow, we are offering and finding support for older women who are embracing this phase of life with power and purpose.

So, what’s next? More. More truth-telling. More myth-busting. More celebrating the unapologetic, fully alive version of ourselves that evolves with each passing year. Aging in power isn’t just a possibility—it’s the only way forward. That is one reason why I’m increasingly thinking about all of this as Rebel Aging. It is an act of rebellion to age in power, to have direction, agency, and joy as an older woman.

Let’s face it, the writing on the wall tells us that we will need community, solidarity, and vision if we are to survive the current context we are living through. No one can do this alone. We must not fall prey to overwhelm. I’m taking a stand for me, for all elder women through these blogs and through WonderCrone’s offerings.

To every reader, every comment, every shared post—thank you. This space exists because of you. Here’s to the next fifty, and the fifty after that.

If you have suggestions for future blogs, please share them! I would welcome both the exchange and the opportunity to include other voices in WonderCrone.
