TRIPLE GODDESS
Each chapter in a woman’s life holds power
The Triple Goddess is the trinity of the phases of a woman’s life—Maiden, Mother, and Crone. These phases are also seen in the moon, moving through the waxing, full, and waning moon. In Greek mythology, these phases correspond to Maiden/Persephone, Mother/Demeter, and Crone/Hecate. The Triple Goddess far predates the Hellenic culture. Only recently, archeologists found a Triple Goddess icon in a cave that dated back 5200 years. In the Maiden, we see a joyful young figure, who is dancing around the May pole. In the Mother to the right, we have a medallion of roses, seeds, and pearls which represent fertlity and love. In the Crone, the medallion features the wings of a monarch
butterfly and a scater of marigold petals linked to Day of the Dead. The Triple Goddess honors the natural life-cycle of a woman and demonstrates the power that each chapter in a woman’s life holds.
 
La Triple Diosa es la trinidad de las fases de la vida de una mujer: Doncella, Madre y Anciana. Estas fases también se ven en la luna, moviéndose a través de los ciclos de luna creciente, llena y menguante. En la mitología griega, estas fases se corresponden con Doncella/Perséfone,
Madre/Deméter y Anciana/Hécate. La Triple Diosa es muy anterior a la cultura helénica. Recientemente, los arqueólogos encontraron un icono de la Triple Diosa en una cueva que databa de hace 5200 años. En la Doncella, vemos una figura joven y alegre, que baila alrededor del palo de
mayo. En la Madre de la derecha, tenemos un medallón de rosas, semillas y perlas que representan la fertilidad y el amor. En la Anciana, el medallón presenta las alas de una mariposa monarca y una dispersión de pétalos de caléndula vinculados al Día de los Muertos. La Triple Diosa honra el ciclo natural de la vida de una mujer y demuestra el poder que tiene cada capítulo en la vida de una mujer.
