Wananchuka

Personal will takes us forward, and through this, we transform

Wananchuka

Among the Somali Bantu (also known as the Zigula), Wanankhucha was honored as a diviner and prophetess. According to oral history, Wanankhucha organized the escape of large numbers of Zigula people from slavery and led them to freedom in the 1860s, using traditional songs to galvanize and mobilize her people. This Diva’s medallion features a dense mix of prehnite, white marble and coral. Prehnite carries the message that our personal will is responsible for pushing us forward to take action each day. The white marble is said to have strong metaphysical qualities of grounding and calming. It enhances the powers of serenity. Coral is known as the stone of peace and transformation. Wanankhucha’s message is that our personal will takes us forward, even in the face of great challenge and through that progress we transform
