Tōnacācihuātl
Life’s rhythms repeat, yet each pass is unique

Tōnacācihuātl was an Aztec creator and goddess of fertility. She was worshiped for peopling the earth and making it fruitful. She resided in Ōmeyōcān, the 13th and highest heaven, with her partner Tōnacātēcuhtli. It was from there human souls descended to earth. Tōnacācihuātl torso is capped with a wheel, noting the cycles of nature. Tōnacācihuātl is known as the Lady of Abundance. This Diva shows this abundance in her pregnant form, projecting fertility in the four cardinal directions. Her medallion includes kernels from red, black, and yellow corn—indigenous to Mexico and a fundamental food historically and today. Tōnacācihuātl message is that life’s rhythms repeat, yet each pass is unique
