Guanyin
Remain vigilant for the many forms of compassion and mercy that come our way

Guanyin is the goddess of mercy and compassion. She is an all-seeing, all-hearing being who is called upon by worshipers in times of uncertainty, despair, and fear. She is the East Asian representation of Avalokiteśvara, a male deity in Buddhism with the capacity of gender fluidity. The Lotus Sūtra includes the earliest literature teaching about the doctrines of Avalokiteśvara and describes him as one who works tirelessly to help those who call upon his name. In East Asia, Guanyin is popular in her female aspect. She is the protector of fishermen and symbol of fertility. This Diva’s medallion includes marigold petals and gold leaf, simulating the effect of koi fish and also symbolizing wealth and abundance. Guanyin’s message is that we must remain vigilant for the many forms of compassion and mercy that come our way
