Astraea

We must occupy higher ground and exercise higher principles

Astraea

Astraea’s name translates as "star-maiden" or "starry night." She is the virgin goddess of justice, innocence, purity and precision. In Greek mythology, Astraea represented all that was good in the world. As the wickedness of humanity rose, she ascended to heaven to become the constellation Virgo. Astraea came to personify the hope that a new age of innocence would one day return. In Renaissance Europe, she was the general spirit of cultural renewal. This Diva’s medallion features a white daisy and white pansy, depicting Astraea’s purity and innocence. Like the goddess herself, pearls represent purity, innocence, wisdom, and power. Astraea’s message to us is that even if there is meanness around us, we must occupy higher ground and exercise higher principles
