#100!
Dear Friends,
When I sat down to write the first WonderCrone blog, I had no idea there would be one hundred of them.
Actually, that's not entirely true. I hoped there would be one hundred of them. The difference between hoping and arriving is about one hundred cups of coffee, several moments of self-doubt, a handful of existential crises, and more than a few occasions when I stared at a blank screen, wondering if I had anything left to say.
Apparently, I did.
And so here we are. One hundred blogs. One hundred invitations to think differently about aging. One hundred opportunities to question the stories we've inherited. One hundred reminders that women do not become less interesting, less relevant, less powerful, or less alive as we grow older.
Quite the opposite.
When WonderCrone began, I thought I was creating a platform. What emerged instead was a conversation about purpose when the old roles begin to shift; about power when society expects women to become smaller; and about possibility when conventional wisdom suggests our most interesting years are behind us. And perhaps most importantly, a conversation about wonder.
Because wonder has become one of the great surprises of this journey.
Not the grand, dramatic kind. The everyday kind. The wonder of discovering a new passion at sixty-two. The wonder of surviving something difficult and finding yourself stronger. The wonder of realizing that the woman you are becoming may be even more interesting than the woman you have been.
Over the past one hundred blogs, we have explored reinvention, resilience, friendship, grief, purpose, courage, curiosity, health, creativity, and the beautiful messiness of being human.
Some weeks I wrote from certainty, and on others, I wrote from confusion. Most weeks, I wrote from experience. All of them were written from a place of deep respect for women navigating this extraordinary third chapter of life.
If you've been here since the beginning, thank you. If you've arrived somewhere along the way, thank you. If this is the first WonderCrone blog you've ever read, welcome!
You are joining a remarkable community of women who refuse to believe that aging means disappearing.
No doubt, WonderCrone itself has evolved through these one hundred posts. The ideas have sharpened. The questions have deepened. The mission has become clearer. And I suspect we're only getting started. Because if the first one hundred blogs were about finding our voice, perhaps the next one hundred will be about using it.
So today, I am raising an imaginary glass to every reader, every subscriber, every conversation, every insight, every challenge, and every unexpected turn in the road.
One hundred blogs is not a finish line. It is a milestone. A reminder to pause, look back with gratitude, and then continue forward.
The road ahead still holds plenty of wisdom. Plenty of wonder. And, of course, a healthy amount of shenanigans.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Here's to the next one hundred.
With gratitude,
Jen
